The Nats have the lowest scoring offense in the league,  the phillies have one the highest scoring offenses in the league - why are some people shocked they outscored the Nats? As it is, the phils had a grand total of 3 runs, 2 runs, and 4 runs .. a whopping 9 runs in three games - the Nats pitching did a great job of keeping them down that much ... the Nats offense couldn't keep up - it sucks to lose but it's not exactly a shocking development. Am I disappointed in the offensive production? Of course. Are they underachieving? Maybe. Have they overachieved up to this point to win as much as they have? Probably. But banging my head against a brick wall trying to will this team to do something they are not capable of is an act of futility - the Nats need more firepower in the line up - until they get that firepower, this is what you get.
