We're 2-0 this year in the last game of a series.
I think Nieves caught both games also

Just hope the umpires call low strikes today for Nats pitchers (as opposed to only calling them for Phils pitchers), so we stand a chance. At least in the first game of this series, it was atrocious. If you only call thigh high strikes, you're really penalizing a pitcher.

Olsen vs. Phillies last year: 1-1, 5.06 ERA in 10.2 IP (9 k/4 BB)
Olsen vs. Phillies in career: 5-6, 5.29 ERA in 64.2 IP (49 k/30 BB)

Hopefully we see the Olsen that showed flashes of being a good pitcher last year and spring ... not the bad one.

yeah ... Burnett got hosed yesterday on that 2-2 count against Utley ... next pitch was a 3-run homer.

Also, Olsen is known to have a temper, so if he doesn't get some calls ... the wheels may fall off.

Any sign of life from Olsen would be okay with me.

Especially when three out of your five starting pitchers rely heavily on their sinkers.

It would be funny to see him out there pitching with a sig hanging from his mouth, puffing while on the rubber.

I just can't watch this train wreck another time - not today. And the Phillies are the team we play for the last home games for this seasons -for pete sakes - can't we get some sort of break. Nats Home opener = Phillies; Phillies Home Opener = Nats; and Nats last home games of the season = Phillies. I mean what in the hell is Nats Management trying to do -depress the Nats fans for the off-season and/or chase away the fans they do have? - after the end of this season -THIS SCHEDULE SUCKS...............BIG TIME........
I hope Olsen throws a "Hissy-Fit" today -I hope Riggleman throws a "Hissy-Fit" today - and I hope the whole Nats team throws a "Hissy-Fit". No more Phillies games for Nat's Home Opener for next Season or any season in the future, and certainly no Phillies games for the last home opener of the Season .................I HATE THIS SCHEDULE!!

Garrett Mock's option was voided and he was placed on the 15-day DL because of a cervical spine injury. #Nats

Actually MLB farms it out to the lowest bidder.

Nationals:
Morgan, cf
Desmond, ss
Guzman, 2b
Dunn, 1b
Willingham, lf
Rodriguez, c
Maxwell, rf
Gonzalez, 3b
Olsen, lhp

I stuck this in the baseball musings optimizer, and it said there was no way to optimize this line up.

Mock on DL -  Ohhh, I thought you said it was a cranium injury - which would be no surprise there and explain his airhead tendencies, but spinal injuries -now how do you do that?
(I still believe if they opened Mock's head, they would find large amounts of wasteland....but I won't go down that road - after all this is "adopt a jock" day).
