_______________________________________ ______________

Hanrahan picked up is first Major League victory on Saturday night vs. the Cards,
becoming the fourth member of Nationals (Matt Chico, John Lannan, and Levale Speigner
are the others) to reach that milestone this year. Hanrahan lasted five-plus innings
and gave up one run on six hits. He acknowledged that humidity and running the bases
in the fourth inning left him spent by the time he left the game. It was Hanrahan's second
Major League game of  his career. On July 28, he pitched against the Mets and lasted
six innings and gave up three runs, but didn't figure in the decision in a 6-5 Nats victory.

The team still hasn't announced the starter for this one, but Misch is a likely candidate.
The Giants have yet to find a permanent replacement for Matt Morris' former spot in the
rotation, but Misch is making a convincing case for himself. The left-hander made his
first start for the Giants last week and held the Padres to two earned runs in five innings
while striking out eight.

Without Dimitri in the lineup, we're going to need some people to step up, BIG.

Losing this series would be a new low for the season.

Losing this series would be a new low for the season.

I think the 8-game losing streak in early May, which included sweeps at the hands of the Cubs and Brewers, that put the team at 9-25 was the low point.

Hanrahan is digging a hole for himself.  This inning should be over.

It doesn't look like he has his comand. Of course I can't tell from a computer screen and little dots.

Alright Joel, nice job. Got out of this jam like a experienced vet. Usually when a pitcher gets into trouble in the first they tend to cruise through the rest of the game, hopefully that'll be the case with Han.

Our offense has to realize that Hanrahan pitch count is already 29.  We need to get their pitcher's count up.

Actually, you can, if you're using Gameday.  AT&T has the advanced pitch tracking system, so you can see exactly where each pitch crosses the front of the plate, as well as the trajectory path, speed, break, etc.  It's a much more accurate assessment of balls and strikes than actually watching a pitcher on TV, especially a lefty (like theirs).

Misch's pitch count is 24 after two innings.

Hanrahan's pitch count is 29 after one inning.
