Here is one from in house. Davey Johnson.
What's Vinny Cerrato up to these days. I'll bet he needs the work. Does Mark Lerner play racketball?
How long do you think it will be until we hear something?
If they have any sense, they will have someone lined up already.
Depends on when the team president signing deadline is and if the top candidate is represented by Boras.
[Comment From JMad] Any names on the shortlist to replace Kasten as President? It'll be interesting to see how the team fares without Kasten. it'll show us exactly where to lay the blame for the previous years.masnBen: Touched on that a little earlier, but I don't think there will be a team president in the strictest sense. I think you'll see a restructuring that gives COO Andy Pfeffer more power over the business side of things, and Rizzo more autonomy in baseball operations. Kasten is the rare executive who can do both.
from Ben:he also suggests in answer to another question, that Kasten could be angling for a run to replace Selig as Commisioner.
[Comment From peric] Is Mark Lerner a possibility for more hands-on responsibility?4:48masnBen: I don't think so. From what I've heard, his prominence within the power structure of the team is more public than practical. That's a heck of an alliterative sentence, huh?4:49masnBen: In other words, he's more of a public face than a figure who carries a big hammer, as it's been told to me.
[Comment From Maddy] Ben could you see them leaving Kastens spot vacant like the Orioles have, And MacPhail is like a step above a GM but a step below team President4:52masnBen: That's where I'd put my money, yes.4:53masnBen: Think about it: The organization's known for a year that Kasten was leaving. It hired Pfeffer last winter. This has all been in the works for a while.
JMad, you aren't Maddy, right?
