i wonder what the most runs a team has been outscored and still won a series? I think the Mazeroski Pirates were absolutley destroyed in run differential, making the NYY the Pythag Champs that series. 
I read somewhere that a team got routed in their first two games, then won the next three - can't remember who it was - but they were ugly games - like our last 2
