So I should expect Harper to put up 10 WAR next year b/c Trout did this year, and Trout is 20, and Harper will be 20 next year? JUst making sure I'm following all the logic here
Well if we're using that "logic," Trout would have accumulated 3.2 WAR over 160 games last year, and Harper would have had 5.5 over 160 this year, so Harper is 71.875% better than Trout. If Trout played 160 games this year, he'd have 11.76 WAR, and since Harper's 71.875% better, Bryce Harper will have 20.2 WAR next year. To put this in perspective, Babe Ruth's highest single-season WAR was 15.4.
