________________________________________________

Astros: Sampson has struggled with his sinker in his last two starts, and that's led to some shaky results. He allowed four runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings against the Phillies on July 4, and he said his pitches caught too much of the plate. This spot is still TBA, because the order of the Astros' rotation after the break is unclear.

Nationals: Redding is a different pitcher than the one people saw during Spring Training. In March, Redding gave up 11 earned runs in 8 2/3 innings before accepting an assignment to Triple-A Columbus. He acknowledged he was trying too hard to make the 25-man roster as he was one of 12 pitchers vying for four spots in the rotation.

When you have intentionally walk the #8 hitter, you have to get the pitcher out!

Austin should have swung at the 3-0 pitch.  That was the pitch that could have advanced Church.
