Also, if anyone is getting the Pirates broadcast, is anyone else annoyed by the stupidity and arrogance of the Pirates' broadcasters?  They keep talking about batting average with runners in scoring position this year as if it means something.

The trivia question, by the way, was:  in 2002, which four players did the Expos trade for Bartolo Colon and Tim Drew?  It was pretty easy (I'll keep the answer out in case anyone wants to try to answer), but the broadcasters acted like they didn't care and guessed Vlad Guerrero, Gary Carter, Andres Galarraga, and Pedro Martinez.  I mean, the question is pretty simple.  They could have put some effort into it.

Holy crap, I am stunned.  I didn't think Pudge could hit the ball out of the infield, let alone twice.

Dunn doesn't hit for a high average, but no one seems to have a problem with him.

If that didn't make sense, let me clarify.  I don't think there is anything wrong with hitting .240-.260 or whatever.  He just needs to strike out less.  Currently, he has struck out in 41.4% of his at-bats.  He has been hitting the ball pretty hard (as far as I can tell), so if he just hits it more, the average will get higher (I don't think he'll ever be a .300 hitter, though).
Yeah, I should have said "make better contact" instead of "hit for average".  I just meant something better than a sub .150 with a ridiculous strike out percentage.

I know I read that he had problems with his vision, I wonder if he'll get lasik during the off season.

Pudge, is that you, or did Ramos get his uniforms mixed up

I think Pudge realized just how little chance he had of getting 3000 hits by the end of next year and decided to start juicing again...

Again? Was Pudge a known juicer?

Not sure if he admitted it or was caught.  I don't think he was.  But he dropped like 30 pounds one offseason and began to suck (between 2004 and 2005).  It wasn't a gradual drop or even a big drop.  It was a freaking cliff and he just fell off of it.

Sort of like when we had that catcher whose name I am forgetting because I hated him so much...

Pudge with some Punch Juice!

Et tu, Spinman?

There have been juice rumors about most of the rangers from the late 90s due to the presence of known juicers like Raffy and Canseco.  A little later A-Rod, of course, who may have overlapped with Pudge.  Pudge used to carry a lot more weight, hit for good power, and played a ton of games in the heat.  It's just speculation, though.  I don't believe Canseco identified him, he's not linked to problem trainer/supplier, and he was not mentioned in the Mitchell Report.
