Took a pretty tough hop, but he definitely could have gotten it.

Gracious...Charlie Morton, their starter for tomorrow has to be one of the worst regular starters in the history of baseball!

How do you go 1-10 with a 10+ ERA and a 1.97 WHIP and STILL be starting???

Lannan's thrown 110 (or so) pitches, but he has cruised through most of the game.  I wouldn't have a problem leaving him in there for the 8th (assuming he says he's not tired).  Let's see if McLaren agrees.

2:1 K/BB, 2.51 HR/9, and .396 BABIP.  Either he really is horrible (or, more accurately, having a horrible year) or he has been terribly unlucky.

How can we complain about Scott Olsen or even Jason Marquis at his worst when compared to Charlie Morton's numbers?

Ask Gil Meche about that approach.

Not sure about that reference.  Please explain.

Seriously, though, Lannan hasn't had many high stress situations.  Obviously, I'm not on the field and I do not know how John is feeling, but if he says he is okay, I would send him out there.

They must not have had a good buffet in Pittsburgh

I wouldn't.  We have plenty of arms in the BP with the reinforcements of the expanded roster.  Don't push it with Lannan.

Up by this many runs, it's a good time to get some younguns some work.  Is Bally back yet?

Took me a while to find the text that tied that made that image pertinent. :)

Thats pretty sad about Charlie Morton because he used to be a highly thought of prospect in the Braves minor leagues.right above Tommy Hanson and you see how that turned out...
