I think they started the option of playing minor league games.

You can do this in the Show.

Whoops I only read terps post and thought it was asking what it started. I didn't know MVP had something the shoe didn't.

Yeah, I was asking what MVP started. Thanks, I know I played MVP 05, just didn't realize it started the MiLB play on console games for whatever reason.

Mortal Kombat on PS3/360 is on Amazon for 26$ with free shipping.

I might pick this up. The game is damn fun, especially with a group of people around.

Anyone playing Star Wars The Old Republic yet? I just bought the digital Collectors version for $70 or $80, I'm a sucker for ingame exclusive items. Plus I love Star Wars... But I never wanted to try the beta, wanted to experience the real thing in its final version for the first time, and yeah, I'm a day late. But anyone tried it thus far? Any good? I can't imagine a BioWare game not having at least some redeeming qualities, but a Star Wars MMO is not exactly a walk in the park to create. Just not a theme that translates well to MMOs, particularly since they've got to have Jedis playable, and then they are likely overpowering compared to other classes. Add space flight/battles. Multiple planets... It's a nightmare to turn into a viable MMO, just ask Sony and Star Wars Galaxies. Same goes for Star Trek.

I'll admit I am slightly concerned how the pets (whatever they call them) turn out and work... I've sill got 7gb left to download, but I'm optimistic. It is BioWare, as I said. And it's freaking Star Wars. Still... Star Wars Galaxies leaves a horrid taste in any SW fans mouth.

I played the beta. I only played for like 30-40 minutes and only that since I've been "out of commission" the past few weeks since I've been at my parents home but from what I played, I must say I enjoyed. I don't know any of the end game stuff or the pvp aspect but the roles of each class were interesting as well as the combat and the gameplay. I love how it's pretty much like any bioware game where conversations are held and you can make the decisions but then its an mmo on top of it. I'm thinking about getting the game but I am going to have to weigh the outcomes if I will play it enough or not.

College Hoops 2k8 is the best sports game I've ever played. I popped this back in and got hooked.

Haven't touched Skyrim in a long while.

I gave up Skyrim for a while after getting Call of Duty 4. I've been hooked on the online play for weeks.

I'll get back on Skyrim after the new year.

Anyone else been checking out the Steam holiday sales?  I just picked up the director's cut of "The Witcher" for $2.49.  Lots of other good stuff on sale, too.

Because of hoops or some other reason?  I've slacked way off myself, but I think it's because melee builds just aren't as fun as ranged builds.  Matter of preference of course.

Because of hoops and because of some real life stuff limiting my sessions. I can play each night right now, but only in little 30 minute bursts. Perfect for hoops, not enough time to have a nice Skyrim session.

Yeah, my character is pretty boring. He's a badass, but there's not much to just swinging an enchanted warhammer.

Maybe I'll bang out the quest lines I've started and start a new character sooner than anticipated. My coworker is trying to do thief/mage/jerk, and the thief/jerk angle sounds fun.

Yeah...  the problem with warrior builds is that you're pigeonholed, whereas a solid mage can do a decent job of faking other skills via potions/enchants.

Torchlight is $3.74 today on steam.  Played it a bit, it's very fun.  Pretty Diablo-y.  I wish it had a multiplayer mode (Torchlight 2 is supposed to), because it'd be a lot of fun to play with other people.  Definitely worth $4.

Got my next gig in Hoops 2k8. I'll be heading to Kent State to work some mid-major magic.

Is there a monthly fee for this?

After leading the Terps to a number of National Titles as offensive coordinator, I took the same gig at Nebraska. Looking to get a good head coaching gig in the next couple years. NCAA 11 fwiw.

Yes, unfortunately.  I would have been interested had it been b2p like Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be.

Yeah, 15$ I believe. The game is pretty badass though, from what I played of the beta.

Nathan, you getting GW2 when it comes?

Speaking of steam deals, Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 is a little under $4. http://store.steampowered.com/app/24010/

Given the amount of free content avaialable at http://trainsim.com/ this seems like a pretty good deal. :mg:

Torchlight is awesome.

Torchlight 2 has multiplayer, and Torchlight 3 is supposed to be a MMORPG.
