Because Acta refuses to bat him anywhere else.

At least we have some theoretical pop on the bench.

Is this our new outfield? I thought it may be something we tried for a game or 2 but I hope it isn't our permanent fixture.

That's one way of looking at it. Dukes has taken over Harris' spot on the bench as our late defensive replacement/utility and pinch runner.

Sad to see Flores isn't in the lineup.  And the new OF is better than the previous one, for now.

No way we win tonight. We're going to get owned.

I agree. Webb is due to win and Bergmann is due to give up at least a few runs if not a bunch.

I think Dukes should be our everyday RFer but Langerhans/Harris can platoon in LF in replace of Pena. Pena should never start again.

Lopez has done well in his career against Webb.

No, it's not permanent. I'm just not a fan of throwing these guys out there 2 games in a row. Hey, I guess it could work again, though.

Dukes and Milledge have potential to be our long-term OFers. Heck no with the rest including Pena. I can't believe WMP tricked us into giving him a 2-year deal with his great play at the end of last season.

we're gonna need a minor miracle to win tonight. berg is gonna have to be absolutely lights out.

why does the career minor leaguer (ryan langerhans) continue to start? one spot start last night is fine, but back to back starts?

i'm a little worried that dukes might have re-aggravated his ankle injury last night.  :-[

I don't think he "tricked us". I'm sure he's trying to reproduce his numbers from September. No one WANTS to hit near the Mendoza line during the first 2 months of the season.

Man Chico Harlan is awful. No report whatsoever on Zim's status in his latest entry posting today's lineup.  This guy is getting on my last nerve. His writing is crap, his blog entries are lame, and his lack of knowledge regarding the team and baseball in general is appalling.

I'm not saying he did it on purpose but he still tricked us into keeping him around and giving him a deal by over-performing greatly during the last few months of last season.

Because he posted on his condition yesterday. You really think all of a sudden Zimmerman took some Holy Snake Oil and was healed?

Chico The Blog Writer needs time. There is no way he could learn and "get in" with the Nats to the level that Barry was at who had, what? Three years up on him? Give him time.

EDIT: I am thankful I don't have to hear about Panera Bread any longer from Barry.

He should talk to Kasten about that.

He just doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable or passionate about the team at all.  I don't think he was a very good hire by the Post at all.  They could have uh, picked someone that actually knows a little about baseball, the Nationals, and this city in general.

Zim was supposed to take BP today. A good reporter would find out how it went and if Zimmerman will be ready for tomorrow's game.

Again, my only hope is that we don't get no-hit.

Why the shock?  Knight's been in the booth before.

i don't even think it makes sense for r.z. to play tomorrow. he should just take the entire week off, and then he even gets another extra off day on monday. he'll be ready to dominate the cards.
