It is kind of surreal to watch and be a fan of a team this good especially in Washington.  Almost an entire generation of DC sports fans have grown up without watching a winner with the exception of the Capitals and even they flamed out in the playoffs every year.

It's just surreal, as this is my first time rooting for a winning team in my life.

[...]THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Tuesday 26th July 2005 saw the Nats drop the opener of a series at Atlanta, 3-2 in 10 innings - Luis Ayala walked Andruw Jones with the bases loaded to force in the winning run...record now 55-45...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250726115[...]

Speaking of nostalgia, the online Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's 'Brewers Blog' is running a day-by-day reminiscence of the 1982 Brewers ('Harvey's Wallbangers'), that team's only pennant winner to date...rather interesting: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/brewers.html

Holy moley, was that one scary line-up.

Journal-Sentinel match story for last night: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/163948266.html - looks like poor Gallardo (the losing pitcher), along with of course the manager, had to stay out there and take the media heat while his clutch-hitting mates were hiding in the showers.

Man I love our Nats! This is the best I've felt about one of my teams since my Terps won the bball NC. Now if only the Skins would get better...
