Seattle has scored more runs than we have.  So has Minnesota, Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco...

I didn't know the hole we were in was THAT deep.

Hey Chief, we need an update on runs scored compared to previous years. I wonder if we're catching up.

Whenever I look at 2009 all I can ask myself is how awful was our pitching?  That's a solid offense and 2009 we got our butts kicked on the regular

John Lannan was the Ace.

What's the league average offense right now?

Nats have the fifth best run differential in baseball at +27.

Nats teams' R/G through the end of May as a percentage of league (NL) average R/G through the end of May:

Last graph is nice.  So, relative to the league, this offense is comparable to the Soriano team but behind what we have been used to over the past 3 years.  2007 really has to be the "huh?" year given how bad our offense was and our pitching.  Acta for Manager of the Year!

This is cool and telling me that the offense is what I think a lot of folks thought it would be - slightly, but not hugely, worse than league-average.  If Morse and Zim come around, we could claw our way back to solidly middle.  That and the pitching should keep us in it.

Any updates Chief?

Also, just a friendly reminder: If you order Papa Johns online and type in NATS50 in to the promo code, your order is half off.

5 runs + win = half off the next day

Nice win but worried sick about the hitting.

Another win chalked up to great pitching and defense but how long can it last?

The Nats top 4 starters have a sub 3.00 ERA, that's happened like three times in history. And the Pen has been rock solid. The answer is, with pitching like that,  it can last a long time.

Hitting is our weakness, pitching is our strength. Get used to it.

so I guess you are not saying it was our worst offensive performance in history.
This is more a general comment on the offense.

Left 16 runners on base. That's bad. Got eight hits...that's OK...Zim needs a rest.
