Milledge should not give up 44.  After 32 and 9 --  I think 44 is the best: Riggins and Aaron come immediately to mind.

I voted number 5 because it was the number Hank Aaron wore his rookie year before he switched to #44 (could be the opposite for LMillz) and because Joe DiMaggio wore it as well....oh ya also because it's my favorite number

Never knew that, thanks.   And how about Brooks Robinson?

Or Norm Zauchin.

sorry, but i'm officially titling Milledge as baseball's "ocho cinco" to go with Dukes, who is baseball's beast mode!

"Nationals manager Manny Acta stuck a piece of white tape on Milledge's locker in the Space Coast Stadium clubhouse and wrote on it in black ink: "Ocho Cinco 85" — a reference to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson, who changed his first name to a rough Spanish translation of his uniform number."

haha, looks like "ocho cinco" is catching on!

ocho cinco doesn't even mean eighty-five. It means eight five.

ochenta y cinco is eighty-five.

Regardless it's stupid.

very dumb.  I'm making a vow to never refer to "the player to be nicknamed" as ocho cinco........starting now!

I suppose #85 is fine..it signifies how many outfielders the Nats have.
