The Nats ought to have The Real Bob Wolff (note spelling of name) record some home run calls of guys like Sievers and Killebrew morphing into Zimmerman. Also record a welcome to the ball-park.

Or listening...
Which part is laughable? You just revealed that you comment on games you're not even watching based on a gamecast.

Too bad we missed a huge opportunity with Zimmerman at the plate early in the game.

No crap, I have seen more than enough from guys like Balester and Werth to base my opinions of them.

CBS posted that he struck out swinging and then a minute later changed it to HR. laughable

My post still stands though. One meaningless HR in the 8th inning down by 3 doesn't change anything. He sure is good when it matters the least.

Davey's stubborn ass refused to have him bunt. Costly.

2 shutout innings from Maya and Werth HR, we need to win this game.

OK. I just did the arithmetic the 2way we learned at Bunker Hill Elementary...if the Braves have 6 runs and the Nats have 4, then our team is down by two runs. Not impossible.

how can I prove it?

I don't see why I need to anyways. I don't care what anyone thinks. It is a fact in my mind.

I wonder how many times managers have asked their number 3 hole hitters to bunt.

You usually need about 1 or 2 batters to judge a pitcher, right?

You wanted Zimmerman, arguably the best hitter on the team, bunting? Seriously?

outside of the 9th inning in a playoff game when down by a run with no outs, probably none.

I doubt even then.

You have to look at the situation. Tim Hudson ALWAYS gets the best of Zimmerman and gets him to GIDP. We needed a bunt to move the runners over for Morse. That was the SMART/WINNING play.

Sure, against nearly every other pitcher and in other situations, yeah it would be dumb to have him bunt, but in that spot a bunt was the best play.

God yes!  In that situation, against that pitcher, you have to bunt.  We've had exactly the same situation against Hudson (even with Zimmerman at the plate, I believe) and it ended EXACTLY the same way.

This team is incapable of learning from history.
