Without van Persie or Song, things will be tough for Arsenal today. At least Fabregas sounds like he is cleared to play. Barcelona is a tough place for visiting teams, perhaps not quite as bad as Belgrade or Mexico City, but really frigging hostile.

Yeah, I'd be really surprised if Arsenal moves on. I'm predicting a 3-0 win for Barcelona. Sucks van Persie's out.

It seemed like he heard the whistle. Probably didn't warrant a yellow, but he still shouldn't have kicked it.

I take it back. He definitely didn't hear the whistle. Bad call.

If DC United can beat AC Milan, SURELY Tottenham Hotspur can...

(granted, that was during their offseason, many of their best players were in South Africa preparing for the World Cup, and those stars who were there--e.g., Ronaldinho, Seedorf--didn't give a rats ass)

That's great. Ajax has produced a very large number of great players over the years.  I wonder if there will be lots of Israeli flags at RFK (it's an Ajax thing).

Exactly.

Well, not exactly...these days there are many more Jewish people in London than Amsterdam for obvious reasons, but the historical association is still celebrated.  Or that's my interpretation anyways. For whatever reason, you see a lot of the Star of David around the place when Ajax is playing.

The Netherlands took in many Jews following their expulsion from Spain and Portugal in the late 15th century - in fact there still is a 'Portuguese Synagogue' in Amsterdam.

This USA-Argentina game might only be a friendly, but it has been awesome. Agudelo is going to be a star.

I like these kits with the red top and blue shorts.  Where is this match being played?  It looks like the new Meadowlands...

Agree on agudelo. US didn't seem to get outplayed too badly but I recall howard making a ton of nice saves

Howard will be at RFK this summer. He is a stud goaltender...I wonder whether Pat Onsted will be in the net for DCU in July.

Oh man, what a huge win this would be for Manchester City. Up 1-0 over Manchester United in the FA Cup semifinals and one of their guys (Scholes) just got red carded.
