Agreed.  Might as well see what he's got.  Don't want a team full of people who skulk and underperform if they're asked to bat out of their preferred spot :|

Also, my thought is that Desmond might see better pitches in the 2-hole.  Since you may eventually want him there anyway, might as well try him out there rather than stick him lower in the line-up and get a skewed idea of his skills.

He sure as hell has looked like a professional hitter, hasn't he.
