2 straight days without Cristian Guzman starting. Does this mean that Riggleman has finally changed?

I'm still not satisfied.  They need to stop batting Kennedy 2nd.  He's been objectively awful this year.

Just put Desmond at 2 already.

Proof that you just pick arguments for the freak of it.  You can't dispute that Kennedy has been terrible this year.

Desmond is the future 2 hole hitter. Riggleman does sometimes have a bit of outdated thinking in rookies having to pay their dues but I will take this flaw over a manager that isn't aware of what is going on in the game. Besides is there a manager without a flaw?

Mildly decieving.  He really has only hit in the 2 hole when he's faced lefties, so really, those may as well be his right/left splits.

This is why  I didn't call it the A+ or A lineup.

:wtf:

I led the call for Kennedy to get his first beachball, dude

I was going to shoot you down because Desmond has been doing well, and I don't mind him hitting near the bottom with Pudge.  But I hadn't realized his numbers were so much better up top.  Relax and take the compliment.

I'd rather have Desmond bat in the 2 hole as well, but for arguments sake I wonder what pitchers he has faced while batting 2nd compared to 6th or 7th because that could also contribute. I also wonder if Riggleman has Kennedy batting 2nd because of the R/L aspect.

i've been preaching that since the start of the season.  but have been shot down by some on here who say he needs to learn

i think Desmond in the 2 hole is the lefty line-up so we would need his splits vs lefties as well to fully judge.

Switch Bernadina for Harris and it's the best we've got.

True, but Bernie's been swinging it really well the past few games or so.

:lmao: His numbers aren't bad hitting 8th.  What I like is that he seems to adjust to the appropriate situations in the line-up.  More walks hitting 8th, more base hits against fastballs hitting 2nd.

Agree.  Desmond looks like he could be a stud hitting and fielding.

And can you imagine if Bernadina really starts hitting ... and Strasburg shows up soon and maybe Wang and Zimmermann ...

I'm sorry, I can't help it.

RE:  Desmond:

Dibbs was saying on XM this morning that the decision to keep Desmond near the bottom right now is a good one because there seems to be a trend developing in the NL with speed at the 1-2 spots, power at 3-5 or 6 and then speed again at 7-8 with the pitcher 9th to bunt.  He said having a good #7 is almost the big key.

His OPS is .350 higher against lefties. His OPS against righties is .125 higher than Kennedy's.

Oddly I don't remember him getting a triple batting 8th, when was that?

Morgan - CF
Kennedy - 2B
Zimmerman - 3B
Dunn - 1B
Willingham - LF
Rodriguez - C
Desmond - SS
Bernadina - RF
Olsen - P

Thanks.
Looks like I picked a good night to go out there for the first time this season.
