It sucks that the Yankees get the quality time slot. What worst, if by implication of MLB, no one is watching the Nats-Cardinals series, as opposed to the Yankees-Anybody series, there's no reason why the Nats game can't start at the same time as the Yankees series. No one's watching, after all, so why can't nobody be watching at 7:00 as opposed to nobody watching at 3:00?
I don't think that's the takeaway, implicit or otherwise. It simply says that they believe the Nats-Cards series will have LESS viewers and not necessarily zero viewers. Ultimately its about advertising dollars and they are not going to split the viewership by scheduling games at the same time, at least not by design. We obviously may see it as a result of factors beyond their control such as yesterday's rain delay in Baltimore.
