Nationals vs Cubs, Game 4
« Topic Start: July 05, 2007, 06:15:53 PM »

July 5th, 2007 - RFK Stadium, 7:05

Sean Marshall
4-3, 3.50 ERA

Jason Bergmann
1-5, 3.47 ERA

Alfonso Soriano (LF)
Mike Fontenot (2B)
Daryle Ward (1B)
Aramis Rimerez (3B)
Cliff Floyd (RF)
Jacque Jones (CF)
Koyie Hill (C)
Cesar Izturis (SS)
Sean Marshall (P)

Nook Logan (CF)
Ronnie Belliard (2B)
Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
Dmitri Young (1B)
Austin Kearns (RF)
Felipe Lopez (SS)
Brian Schneider (C)
Robert Fick (LF)
Jason Bergmann (P)
________________________________________________

Marshall gave up seven runs on seven hits and two walks over two innings in an abbreviated start in his last game vs. Milwaukee. The Brewers opened a 4-0 first-inning lead and Marshall had a tough time getting on track. He threw 48 pitches in his shortest start of the season. The lefty is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA on the road compared to 2-2 with a 4.30 ERA at home.

Nationals: Bergmann has been arguably the Nationals' best starting pitcher this season, but he had nothing in the tank against the Pirates last Saturday. After Washington gave him a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning off left-hander Tom Gorzelanny, Bergmann quickly gave it up in the bottom of the second inning when Pittsburgh batted around and scored six runs.

I really hope Bergmann can return to form tonight, and that we can help him out with some offense.  His record is a crying shame after what he's given us so far this season.

Ok ... so basically I was at yesterday's game after two weeks away in beautiful Waikiki ...I take full responsibility for the win - all hail um ... me ...    :worship:  :)

I'm posting tonight - looking forward to hanging with you guys - would love to see Jason be effective and take the win tonight -

BTW ... yesterday's crowd was awesome - the place rocked when Meat Hook hit his granny - then it was off to a barbecue and fireworks ... all and all an excellent day ...

I assume you are having this done,
to make it easier to get home when you've been drinking...

Sorry, too late, the credit for yesterday's win went to natsfan1a who's sign containing a link to the forum was the reason for the win.

They should have made it harder to tell which way the truck is facing, by placing rear view mirrors on both cabs.

This start or the next should be the last of Bergmann's comeback. Then, we should know how good he really is. I really hope he shows his best today so we can expect good things in the rest of his starts.

She's going to rub that in forever...

The DL honeymoon is over as far as I'm concerned. He needs to be back to form tonight.

It's one of those things where you ask, why the hell doesn't someone talk to this guy? It's like the kid that forever takes the long way to school because no one ever takes the time to tell him the short cut. Messed up. Logan's problems at the plate aren't that hard to see.
