if there is enough interest here, I'll sticky this.

just FYI, Gary Majewski didn't make the Reds, they sent him to AAA after he got TOASTED in Spring Training.

The Denver Post reports that Micah Bowie is probably a lock to stay in Colorado's bullpen now that Ramon Ramirez has been traded to Kansas City.

Why did we just let Bowie go?? He's a better version of King except he can get righties out too.

He was a free agent.

Yeah we don't have room in the pen - he was a good pitcher and a great guy

1/2 of Ray King, 1/2 of fringe prospect is how I look at it

and Church went 1-4 with 2Ks, 3LOB, 1R,1BB

Schneider drove in Church for Schneider's RBI and Church's runs scored.

what were Church/Schneider's final lines last night?

I know Church had a good night, but i haven't had time to check for exacts.

The Rangers don't expect Patterson to be ready to pitch in the Minor Leagues until late April or early May.

Thanks blue. Good riddance to Wuss Arm, he won't even pitch in the Minors until May and is playing long toss, but he was A-OK to be our 2nd game starter. WTF?

Tom Boswell did an online chat last friday and he was asked his thoughts on JP's release.

Quote
When I saw his forearm after his first major surgery, last spring, I guess, I gasped. He'd lost much of his basic musculature. Gone from "Wow, bet that guy is a baseball pitcher" to just a normal guy. He didn't seem aware of the change. I doubted he'd get his fastball back unless he somehow rebuilt the whole forearm. Then, this spring, he had another four-inch scar on the forearm. Great interview, really nice guy, but not universally popular in the locker room because he looked like a star and didn't fit the team's blue collar play-hurt mold. Hope he makes it back in Texas. But I doubt it. And I've doubted it for a year.

He passed his physical on Monday and will begin a long-toss throwing program on Tuesday. The Rangers don't expect him to be ready to pitch in the Minor Leagues until late April or early May.

yeah this kinda stuck out to me.  what's going on with that, maybe thunderstruck can come back here and fill us in on that one.
