I'm curious... I started up EQ2 after a yearlong break aside from season events, since they are having their 12th anniversary and one of the instances gives top raid level weapons and belts for the next week. Way, way overpowered crap. So I'm farming it with my six characters. But I also found out about public quests, something I never stuck around long enough when Velious came out to hear about. I'm curious if WoW has something similar... It's an innovative concept, although one I fear can lead to a proliferation of characters decked out in too good of gear for too little risk.
Basically, every two hours one of two public quests starts up. It's a mini event, takes place in an open zone, anyone can participate. Difficulty scales based on number of participants, and for the 24+ player quests, the loot varies from good to nearly raid level quality. All for about ten minutes every two hours... Like I said, it's a fascinating concept, although one I'm afraid SoE overdid in an attempt to become more casual friendly. But has WoW instituted anything like this? It, combined with the reward for everyone, seems like something you'd expect in WoW... If it isn't there yet, I'd expect it the next GU thanks to SoE.
