I wear ll bean shorts and they seem 'relaxed' which you don't want.

Are they these by chance:

Those are "classic" fit but if they're more like "relaxed" fit forget it.  I might just have to buy some shorts at JCPenneys and then have them altered by our dry cleaning lady.

No, I have summer weight fabric. You can always brave Tyson's and try them on before buying

No thanks, I'd rather be forced to watch "thirtysomething" than step foot into that hellhole of consumerism and yuppiedom.

I think you have to be over 75 to buy those.

I'll give a shout-out to Jos A Banks.  I bought 3 suits from them lat June via one of their buy 1 get 2 free specials. On the 2nd wearing of one them (in March) I noticed a few small holes in a pant leg. The suit had been cleaned once so it could have been an issue with the dry cleaner. Anyway, I took the pants to JAB and they replaced them no questions asked. They said the holes were probably from moths, though I haven't had any other issues with any suits or other pants.

Zip your suits up in garment protectors. Jos. A Bank usually gives you one with a suit.

Yeah, I've learned that lesson the hard way.  My suit (which is now 16 years old) is looking pretty worse for the wear right now.  I found a good deal at JCPenney for some suit separates, but I will be in the market for a nice suit sometime soon.

If you need more than 1 suit then the JAB sales are a good deal. I got 3 suits plus 2 shirts for the price of one suit. With 4 ties, a third shirt, alterations, and permanent pants crease it came out to less than 1,100.

It's really too bad I'm still too big for regular stores 'cause I'd love to get that deal.  Thank g-d it's getting to be summertime - I need to burn this belly off so I can shop in normal stores this fall.

I assume this is you joking because $1,100 for three suits is really cheap, at least for me it is.

I actually don't own a suit.  I have some cheap ass tweed crap I got at mens wearhouse (warehouse?) and some thrift store ties that smell like pho.  But I keep winning bid defenses, so not really in a rush to go get fitted at Versace.

Amazon has suit separates with free returns. Kenneth Cole sets for ~ 400.

What's the difference between casual shoes and dress shoes?

I always thought dress shoes were the shiny ones (like coroframs in the military)
