The last time Lohse faced us earlier this year:

I can't believe the Mets are still at .500.  How the hell is Dillon Gee 7-0 with a sub 3 ERA?  He was never particularly good in the minors.

I still think we'll finish ahead of the Mets - I'll be surprised if the Fish continue to flop and we finish ahead of them.

With their win and 3 game sweep of the Astros today the Pittsburth Pirates have improved to 35-33.  The Pirates have moved within 3.0 games of the 1st place Brewers and after all the crap Clint Hurdle has had to listen to you know he has to have a smile on his face.

His career  numbers vs. the Nats would actually indicate otherwise.

Holliday was activated today, wonder if he'll be in the lineup.

Pretty sure he will be, unfortunately for us.  Still, let's stay optimistic!  Lannan will win!

The Cards radio announcers(Shannon and Rooney) said the plan was for him to play tonight during Tuesday's game.

Looks like Holliday is back in the lineup.

This would be a really tough win.

Theriot, on the other hand, is out of the lineup - too bad he can't boot any grounders from the bench.

I bet Lannan has never hit batted this far up in a line up. Ever.

Correction noted ... I ain't as confident as you about the hittin' part.

I see your correction and raise you one more:

I bet Lannan has never flailed about wildly this far up in a line up. Ever.

So the eight spot is a gaping hole tonight. Lannan looks like he wants to throw up when he's at bat.

Why is this so much bigger a deal than if the nine spot was a gaping hole?

All he said was so the eight spot is a gaping hole. I don't see it as a bigger deal. Looks like he's just pointing out that today its the eight hole, instead of the nine hole, that's gaping... hole... gaping hole.
