Well it will not get any easier with the reds and brewers coming up who can out hit you easily if your not on your game.

We are 6-24 on our last 30 road games. We lose either due to pitching or hitting, never both. At home we seem to be able to put both together. There is clearly a major problem here from those three sentences, and it has to come from coaching. I don't buy an entire team can fluctuate so rapidly. It's almost like they hit well and lose due to pitching, the staff focuses of pitching during pre-game. Then pitching is incredible, and the hitting is awful. Reverse and repeat.

Bottom line, a few games of this bipolar crap is just awful luck. 6-24 on the road, and this continual turnaround between pitching and hitting isn't luck. And it's happening to nearly every single player on the team, for over two months now. There is something major preventing this team from living up to it's potential, and it's not lack of skill, ability or bad luck. It's either horrible clubhouse attitude on the road, fatigue, or poor coaching. All signs, based on what few facts are available, certainly make it seem the logical explanation for something that has gone on this long is somewhere above the players... There comes a point where games like this just stop making sense. And 6-24 for our past thirty road games is that point.

Maybe they aren't as good as we think?

It certainly does seem that when the pitching is great, we can't buy a timely hit.  Or the pitching is terrible and we're out of the game almost before it begins.  If those two factors aren't the problem, the defense makes a costly error or the offense runs us out of the game.  We're lucky Willingham came up with big hit or Strasburg wouldn't have won his last game.

We're due to get some of the better pitchers back and that should give the team a lift, but if the hits don't come or stupid mistakes keep happening, that won't matter either.

Our 1-2 had a better day than usual yesterday but still didn't do what a top 2 should do.  T-Flush got on twice in 4 PA but only saw 9 pitches and ran himself off the bases once.  Luzman was 1-4 and still only saw 13 pitches.

You do crap like that you better be getting on 40% of the time or more.  How many times do our 3-4-5 come up with no one on base?  Dunn has had a bad year with RISP but that is out of character with the entire rest of his career so it should be expected to balance out a bit before the year is over.

It's time to go with Bernadina and AlGo in the 1-2 spots in the lineup.

I still am not sure at what point Guzzie and Nyjer got re-flipped.

Yesterday was one of the very rare times where the top of our lineup did well and our 3-4-5 underperformed. It was definitely the exception to the rule.

They did okay.  Once again our leadoff hitter saw a total of 9 pitches in 4 PAs and ran himself off the bases once before our 3-4-5 could do anything.  Our #2 hitter saw 13 pitches in 4 PAs and got on once.  Our 3-4-5-6 all saw more pitches in 4 PAs and our 7 saw as many as our 2 but also ran himself off the bases.

The middle of the lineup should not be seeing twice as many pitches as the leadoff hitter when the other team is throwing a rookie nobody against them.
