How long does cortisone last anyway? If it's worn off and the shoulder healed during that time, then that's fantastic. But if somehow it's still masking his pain and will wear off in the future, that's scary.
Unfortunately the latter is pretty much exactly what's going on. Cortisone is entirely for symptomatic relief.
