In his last start, Hill pitched five innings while giving up six hits and three
runs for the no-decision. He said the pain in his right forearm is almost gone
and he's expected to make his next start against the Braves. Hill has an 0-2
record with a 4.91 ERA in two previous starts against Atlanta.
Jurrjens has continued to show maturity beyond his 22 years and proven
that he has the stuff to be a successful Major League pitcher. The young
hurler was perfect in five of his six innings against the Mets on Friday and
rebounded from four consecutive third-inning walks to retire each of the
final 10 batters that he faced. He has pitched into the sixth inning of each
of his first five starts.
