Such a shame...this was a really enjoyable game before Hairston's freakup.

There are 3 innings left, I have no idea why everyone is already declaring this game over.

We've seen this movie before.  We know how it ends.

great first outing by Gorzelanny. Sure, he gave up a double to the pitcher and walked the first batter (Wright), but he killed this lineup, aside from Beltran. Now craps falling apart. I really would like those bases loaded and 2&3 opportunity back because thats gonna bite us in the ass.

Yeah I'm not nearly as down on Gorzelanny as I am on the guys behind him.

One ground ball through a drawn-in infield and another through a vacated hole.  Not Broderick's fault...

Radio guys questioned the move too.

FP's explanation made sense, I've just never really seen/noticed it before.

But it definitely backfired here.

freak you offense. Left so many runs on the field like usual. Not a clutch bone in this entire team.

Gorzo, Espinosa, and Ramos showed up and the rest of the guys are asleep. Oh and Zim.

What was his explanation? for us poor schmucks who have to listen to the home broadcast.

Yeah, it was a nice outing I though. Riggleman probably left him in a batter too long, but hindsight is 20/20.

He was okay but left way too many breaking balls/change-ups up in the zone. Major no-no against Major League hitters. They made him pay for each and every mistake he made.

Ouch for the home broadcast.

FP was saying some teams switch it up in the last third of the game so that SS covers second always. This is because a groundball on a hit and run through second is an automatic 1st to 3rd for the runner. Usually on a groundball through short the LF has a play at third even with the runner in motion.

However, on this play, the ball was hit so softly through SS that there was no play at third.

The funny thing is that Hairston could suck all season and he won't be going anywhere. He gets a free pass because he's a veteran

I'm pretty sure that's not true.  He's this year's Taveras, he'll be gone by June.
