How does one post a picture of a douchebag lecturing a strawman, on a phone?

Probably the same way you post a picture of a humorless, condescending know it all.

The SSS does not get overly excited about any particular win or loss or season(s) . Legion of Doom please take note.

Yeah, certain seasons were a throwawy, for sure. But those days are gone, my friend.

So your saying Jim Bowden and Frank Robinson/Manny Acta were headed in the right direction? At what pray tell, should we be comparing if not seasons? Decades?

Futhermore your sweeping generalizations on perspective are errant. I guess we're back to the sanctimonious stuff which is shame because for awhile there you were just talking baseball.

Look, you could not realistically expect this franchise to compete from the get-go. It was worse than an expansion franchise at the beginning. Yes, we threw away a few seasons there. I would say 2006-2010 were all about rebuilding. But now every season counts. We have reached the Sunshine at the end of the tunnel.

I hope your right but I suspect the bats are too enemic and it will take another offseason for them to finally get it right.

We can agree to disagree on the acceptable amount of throw away seasons, my take is it took far too long. The getting started and Bowden days were largely wasted and Rizzo took seasoning to get his act together. We'll reap some farm benefit but it was excessive.

While it's hard to get too big of a hard-on after beating the hapless Chubs and the crap ass Mets, I am starting to actually get really excited about the season.  Don't break my heart Nats!!!

IMHO tomorrow's game is really big - simply because we need GG to establish himself after his first start's debacle.  If he has a strong outing, and we pick up a win, it really does signify that we're on to something this year.

Agree. The Nats are not the 1927 Yankees but they are a competitive, entertaining 80-90 win team that is still missing a few pieces. But just a few. And we all know what those are.

and the fact that 1 impact bat could have pushed that to 85-95 doesn't piss you off?

It's important to entertain the home crowd and win so the crowds have a good time and come back. Yeah, it's important to get Gio going but he will produce sooner than later.  But the win unto itself is not that big a deal. Way too many games to go.

yeah, I just see this as pretty important because we need to get Gio going.  the fact that it is our home opener isn't that important to me, I just want to see GG do what we expect him to do.

I wouldn't go that far but if the guys come out tomorrow and just put an asspounding on the Reds it'll send a message to the crowd to stick around for a fun season.  If they come out looking like a flaccid Wang and strikeout 15 times stranding 10 runners people are going to be disappointed.  Personally I hope they hand Mat Latos his ass tomorrow.

Not if it meant getting five or so more wins would hurt us in the long run....

But I believe our big impact bat is a nineteen year old in Harrisburg and we need to get him up here as soon as he can hack it.

Not anymore.

I really hope these guys just pound the Reds senseless tomorrow.  The home opener is a special day - the team should come out will all cylinders firing and loaded for bear.

Winning is good. Winning today and compromising your ability to win in the future is not good. Long term vs. short term.

Attaboy. I bring people with me who only come for OD. If they see a good team and have a good time, they might just come back. That hasn't been the case since the Inaugural Game in 2008.
