Price and salary and salary efficency is the issue with Madson, I do not think anyone is saying he is a crappy pitcher. Also there is that pesky Type A thing. 
Yeah... I don't think I could ever bring myself to giving up a 1st round pick for a RP, regardless of who it is.
That's true, that makes it tougher to pursue. I guess it depends on what else they do, because, I think they feel they're pretty close and that could be a devastating bullpen for the next couple of years, especially if Mattheus, Bally and Rodriguez continue to progress. It might also be an indication of how Davey wants to manage this team, whether or not they go and get him.
