Okafor and Ariza look trrible.  They are basically 2011 Jayson Werth.  Paid a lot, not really worth all that much.  They might bring some kind of leadership or character or whatever, but they look like crap on the court.

Look at what we traded for them,  to think that they'd be good,  you'd have to trust ernirs talent evaluation more than another gm's,  and I'm not willing to go that fae

Just started watching another travesty of a game.  Boston is up 11-2 only 3 minutes into the game.

huh, all the games have been pretty close so far.

Man, the Wizards can't close at the end. Too many young guys and random fill ins. They played Boston tough TWICE! Singleton and Seraphin went off! That dunk Singleton had in the last minute in the 4th was sick.

Yeah, there is a lack of talent but at least they try and they don't make as many stupid mistakes.  Kind of a 180 degree turn from last year - talented but dumb players like McGee and Nick Young are now gone.  Hard working but less talented guys like Okafor and Ariza are at least making this team watchable.

I think Wizards fans are going to like Okafor a lot once Nene and Wall come back. He's a great screener and an above-average passer. It's just that we don't have a PG who can draw attention away from some of the other guys on the court right now. He still should be getting a lot more minutes than he has been because he's our best front court defender.

I'm definitely looking forward to a lineup of:

Wall
Beal/Crawford
Ariza/Vesley/Singleton
Okafor/Booker/Seraphin
Nene/Seraphin/Booker

Pretty good group of guys right there. Definitely moving in the right direction.

what about Jan?

things are improving, I still think the Ariza/Okafor trade was imbecilic, but at least the knuckle heads are gone

I have him Jan listed after Ariza before Singleton.

I think I would start him at least by the half way point- Ariza is what he is, at best a trade chip, but he wont be here when the team is competitive, might as well see what you have in Jan

True. I think he'll definitely start over Ariza down the line, too. I've always though, and heard from here/sources/etc, that Jan was at best a 6th man. I always thought we should upgrade at SF via draft or FA.

No flow to the offense. Have to blame the coach for that.

Okafor is having a good game.

Mike Brown gone  ...

If they fire Eddie Jordan next I'd love to see the Wizards bring him back.

I think the "Princeton offense" in it's current form is a tough fit with today's NBA game.

They're playing for lottery balls this year,  at least the Princeton offense is entertaining,  I'd like to see them run the Grinnell offense

IMO the "Princeton offense" is a sport's art form.   It's entertaining if you now what it is or what it's purpose is.   It doesn't make hi-lite clips and that's what the NBA is about.    Tim Duncan, Nash and the like get it.   Dwight Howard  ...   not so much.

It was working just fine here when we had our big three, before Arenas blew his knees out and was never again able to drive to the basket.  Jordan was a fine coach, how he got let go and Grunfeld is still here I'll never figure out.  Now that the band of idiots who somehow learned all of Arenas' stupidity and not a thing from Jamison and Butler are thankfully gone I'd be very happy to see what Jordan could do with this new batch of young guys.

No one complain about not getting enough shots- if you're going to loose might as well put on a show

Paulball was boring and dumb.  Give me the Knicks v. Heat games from the 90s with low scoring and hard hitting playground style defense.

The way the game is called now,  the entire team would foul out by halftime

Jordan is a nice guy and has an innovative approach to coaching an NBA team.   Working fine?    Your point is well take though on the fact that the NBA has more "idiots who somehow learned all of Arenas' stupidity" than it does Jamison and Butler.   It takes 5 to play the Princeton offense  ...   not Princeton and Kobe and Howard.    It'll take more than Jordan to straighten this out.   Ted needs to rid this franchise of the burden of Ernie.

It's about the money.   The NBA doesn't wanna try and market the Princeton offense any more than the NFL wants a repeat of the '85 Bears or the Steelers/Raiders or 'skin/Dallas headknocker games from the '70s.    Frankly, I don't think most of today's players wanna play that way anymore (appears to be heading that way with the leadership of the NFLPA).   Hell, you have guys in the NBA who couldn't tell you where or even what Princeton is.    They're not dumb.   It just isn't on their radar screen.
