Didn't the game on Sunday when Desmond had a two strike count fell like a loss?  Feelings can betray...
Just because we won that game doesn't mean we can afford to lose this one. freaking embarrassing. The Nats are a long ways away from competing and games like this just cement that point.

but the Phillies are good and were playing well.  i didn't feel anything about those games.  this is a team playing badly in a game where we had so many chances and we're losing.  This is not the kind of game you comeback.

FYI...the Nats are allowing ticketholders who couldn't make it tonight to exchange tickets for a future home game.

that's nice.  maybe next they can upgrade the payroll to $100 million?

Someone tell that to Ryan Braun who hit 34 as a rookie in 2007.

Ryan Braun was never a Nat, unlike Allison.

You don't come back in games like they did this weekend either.  Let them use up all 27 of their outs.  They've still got 4 to use up.

Edit: now 3.

Davey Johnson should send in his resignation letter after tonight's game.

But Arizona has been playing well so they were bound to win again eventually, right?

I went back and watched the ABs because of SF's typical hyperventilating, and because at the time I thought it was a good idea to stretch Zimmermann out as his season is winding down.

Generally when you are looking for pitcher fatigue you look for pitches elevating above the zone. Zimmermann had two high fastballs in those two ABs, but he bounced back after both of them. The slider was the pitch that was really missing. He also ended both of those ABs with very solid pitches -- the ground out and the almost strike.

Anyway, I think that Zimmermann deserved to stay in the game. He was pitching a great game, it's late in the season, and we need him to be able to go deep into games in the future.

Davey's going to keep pushing his pitchers to go deeper into games, to get out of their own jams.  It's a long run strategy.  You can't yank him at the first sign of trouble, then pitch Clippard 3 innings, and repeat the next night.

Every game feels like a loss to you.

Every game feels like a win to some people.  Who cares?

The only thing more tiresome than the whining of people like PC and SF is the whining about the whining from a larger contingent on here.

But by all means, continuing reaching into the monkey cage and flinging its crap right back at it.  It really does a lot of good.

That was a satellite photo.  I was able to break into Google's system to capture some early images.  I think I'm charging too high of premiums for usage.

FYI...the Nats are allowing ticketholders who couldn't make it tonight to exchange for tickets for a future home game.

Not really that generous of them.  Likely that well over half of the tickets sold for the game tonight are part of season ticket plans, so those ticket holders already have the option to exchange the tickets for a future game.  Ticket holders for single game purchases are less likely to blow off the game, so chances are that the old man offer really doesn't apply to a very large number of people.

You're wasting your breath.  SF is a moron who refuses to acknowledge that the Nats were shut down by a pitcher who has shut down a lot of teams this year.

This can't simply be a loss against a superior pitcher - it's a season-defining, rebuild-crushing loss that will set back the entire franchise for years.
