Can't believe I'm looking forward to the other team's at bat just to see SS.

An XM listener (and Met fan) called Dibbs' show on Thursday and said that Strasburg reminded him a lot of Dwight Gooden when he first came up.  He said he would root for the Mets to score one or two quick runs in the first and then root for quick outs so he could watch Gooden pitch.

I would expect him to give up a large percentage of ERs on dingers. When you throw that hard, it's hard to hit, but if a guy makes solid contact the momentum can take it a long way.

that's what happened in Harrisburg if I recall, the only chance batters had against him was to guess FB and swing early, if they guessed correctly they could send one over the wall.

Pudge is darn invaluable. Talked SS into getting some groundouts. Perfect.

It almost hit the plate and it was just barely in the strike zone. His wheelhouse is golf swinging?

i guess we are watching different games here.

this kid is going to have a long career if he keeps getting all these ground ball outs without having to throw more than 2-3 pitches per batter.

Lets hope everything goes well and we re-sign him in the future.

It's another new Nike glove. Both will sell like crazy now.

Maybe it's a comp.   :)   It'll be on the shelves tomorrow.

3 groundouts.  38 pitches, 25 strikes.
Strasburg now on a pace for 10 K's, since he's on a pitch count.

PitchFX puts it somewhere between my description and yours. Bottom of the strike zone, over the plate, not enough break but it looked like it to the hitter. It was a good, but not great pitch.

My DirecTV guide said Phillies @ Red Sox.

Pretty sure they bumped it because the Phillies are playing horribly. Nats.com and Zuckerman listed it.

I thought I saw "R.E.S" embroidered into the glove he used Tuesday, I wonder if that was for his dad?
