  • That’s gonna be a no from me, doge.
Cox cable has no HD listing for the game, I set the DVR to record the overflow channel from 7-11, hope they don't screw up the game feed.

Ahh crud. I have to go to dinner tonight, going to be difficult to set the TIVO if the game isn't listed.

Yep. I wish they would change the home unis.

Eh, I'm okay with them, but they are probably my least favorite of all our uni's.  I'm happy with our road grays and alternate reds.  I like the alternate blue ones live in person, although I can see why some don't like them when watching on TV.

BTW, I ordered a Desmond BP jersey and it arrived yesterday before game time.  1-0 in the new digs!

The game is on MASN2 tonight.  According to MASN's website, if you have COX cable noVA the game will be in HD on channel 771.  It should be on channel 884 on Comcast and those of us using FIOS are crap out of luck* for HD.

*Everything I have read around the internet indicates that FIOS will not be carrying MASN2 HD anytime soon.  Apparently FIOS is still haggling over the price AND is upset over the lack of programming on MASN2.  Whatever, there are like 15 other cable companies that are offering the damn channel in HD, what a sham.

For craps and giggles I watched MLB.com's Phils-Nats highlights and it was worse than an ESPN highlight.

Watch for yourself ... seems like the script was written by a Phillies fan for Phillies fans...

I do not like to watch Mock pitch. I do not like to see Mock pitching as a starter. I think Mock is over-rated. Hde should be a bullpen pitcher. We are in trouble, if he is pitching tonight.
The saving grace is Pelfrey - can't stand him - use to heckle him every chance I could at home games last season - he tends to hit batters with his pitch - happened three times in one game - he was also famous for aiming at Dukes - and Dukes got hit a few times by his pitches, along with Kearns, and others on the Nats team.
I use to yell at him - "For Christ sakes, Pelfrey, just throw the ball and try not to hit anyone"; that seemed to get his goat - it did cause a few Mets fans to laugh and crack-up.

I think Mock will be the first to go when we start getting guys healthy or tearing up the minors.  JD Martin's already had one solid outing.  If he puts together 3 or 4 consecutive, and Mock struggles, that's about as far as he stays up I bet.  Nonetheless, I hope he discovers that inner bulldog that helps him to compete with every pitch, and leverages his considerable talent.

Scott Olsen starts today for AAA-Syracuse.  If Mockat gets shelled tonight and Olsen does well, the lease for the Kat will be even shorter.

Unfortunately, after watching Marquis pitch, I think Marquis is a bigger problem as a starter than Mock, which is pretty bad in my book. Marquis throws too many walks, he seems to have an issue with the strike zone and controlling the pitch.......

 I'm of the belief that he should've been in the rotation instead of Mock.  We'll see how it shakes out tonight, but I have a bad feeling Mock will prove me right.

Marquis >>>>> Mock

And Marquis has proven he's a consistent MLB caliber pitcher over his career.

I can see the game on the non HD MASN2 on my channel guide but channel 771 just says overflow programming.  I expect that the game will be there but every season there are a few screw-ups.

Something changed from last year about how MASN is doing the program guides.  I've been able to set the DVR to record the Nats games and it has been able to find them for me but this year it hasn't been able to tell the difference between the Nats and Os.

And we will relive the glory of his career and how consistent it has been while he loses games for the Nats by allowing too may walks -don't want to wait and hope it happens - he needs to be a bullpen pitcher, not a starter, at this point in his career, in my opinion........

Nah, he'll be fine.  He wasn't great on Wednesday, but he's been pretty steady his whole career and is coming off his best season in terms of his whip.  Plus, if everything goes according to plan, he'll at best, be the #3 guy in the rotation and probably a bit further back than that, next year which is probably a better place for him.

Right, I think Catseye is a little premature in judging him based on his first start this season. Lets give him the ball a couple more times and see how he does.

Yeah, though there is the small sample size if you're feeling optimistic.

This is the closest thing to an AAA line-up Mock will face.  It's now or never, Mockat.

Tonight will be epic:

- Wife and child are gone for the weekend. The NQ Farm is all to myself.
- Six pack of Mickeys
- Listening to the game on the front porch on XM.
- Reason I am on the front porch: We have enlarged our garden so it has taken two days to plant everything. However, even with security measures we find we have a rabbit and deer problem. That problem will be solved with--
- A Marlin .22 caliber with Long Rifle Bullets

It feels like forever since I had a day to myself.

A lot of it was Murphy and Castillo who are both out of the line-up, so that line isn't as scary as it looks.

I can't remember the last time I looked at lineups for a game and actually preferred ours. So this is a rare night.

In the past when I've had MLB.TV, I didn't get much opportunity to watch the pre and post game shows.  This is the first time I've really been able watch them and holy buckets Ray Knight, these guys' names aren't that hard to pronounce.  I motion to call him the Butcher from now on.

And Ben Goessling made his debut on MASN, or at least on the pre game (I think).  Nice job, but he looked a bit nervous.  Garrett Mock was awfully nervous in his interview too, definitely not his element.
