Why not blame Mike Hinckley?  Because he's cute?

FYI, Mike Hinckley still stinks.

 Because he was never actually promising. I like Desmond, Roger, and Bally, but that's about all the talent that came from the Expos. And Livo.

Always bailing out the Lerners.  :lmao:  Today's signing of Hernandez can be added to your argument that they are not cheap.  :lmao:

Who actually plays the games? Mark Lerner has a silly uniform, but these fools on the field lose the game. Watch Zimmeman have an awful at bat.

15 first pitch strikes in a row. AAA Syracuse's, Jason Jones has retired the first 21 batters he has faced. Only 72 pitches. Trying to give you guys some good news going into the 4th of July Weekend!  :woop:

There's a couple words he's avoiding... Why do I remember Jason Jones?

What research/planning does Riggleman do when he puts together his lineups?  Is this really the best we could have done tonight?  Zero runs with 8 strike outs, the most of the season for this pitcher, yet again.  Pitchers who aren't strike out pitchers become strike out pitchers when they see this offense.

Facebook comments for Nyjer's Birthday:

"Happy Birthday, Nyjer!"

"Happy birthday!"

"Nyjer sucks"

I don't totally disagree with you. But this fish stinks from the head downward.

If the Nats end up winning 70 games I will consider that a major disappointment (I'm sure the Lerners will still make plenty of loot though). I know some of you are satisfied with incremental progress, putting us on pace to contend for the wold card by 2017, but this season will be a failure if they don't win at least 74-75 games.

Wait, Jones has a perfect game going? That should make SF do cartwheels.

This guy was a prospect at one time, got Rule V drafted. Pretty cool.

Honestly, how can we blame the pitching when the offense has scored zero runs?  Nothing!

I think we're saying alot of the same things. There are plenty of problems, but everything starts with starting pitching. And the losing combined with these triple A pitchers just weighs the team down. Zim is flat, Pudge cooled of an Nyger just isn't good enough. The team fell to the cellar and is playing like losers. They need to be aggressive traders. The starting rotation is still the galring weakness and that had been the case for years.

Rizzo is trying to swing a trade. Let's see what he does. Haren would be a start. I do think we all agree there was foolishness the past couple years.

It won't matter who's pitching if you don't score runs!  The best we could hope for now would be a 0-0 tie.  Right now, that's the best position we could be in.

Syracuse is putting up a huge 8th inning about 20 minutes right now. Jones waits it out! :nervous:

Let's see if he has icewater in his veins, and if he wants it more than Luis, and if he has options. Ok I'm gonna watch House reruns. Can't take it.

23 in a row for Jones then a single up the middle.
Great job by Jason Jones!
