I notice that folks are quickly backing off the suggestion that we should have traded Zim for Adam Dunn. :)

wha?

I don't ever recall that being suggested.

Oh, there were quite a few people saying they would make that deal in a heartbeat. I was criticized for saying the idea was stupid.

I'd like to see who it was that proposed that idea because I don't EVER recall that being said.

I'm loving this team right now. I wish we could have been half of this the entire year.

I feel great that I stuck with the team the entire year, at least we'll feel good this offseason.

now we just gotta hope San Diego wins because we'll lose the #1 spot otherwise.

I honestly don't think that we're gonna end up with the worst record. Things are just going so well right now and this team has so much energy. Of course, we could go on another nine game losing streak...so who knows.

Yeah it was said, but I can't remember who. I believe it was in the trade forum. I don't recall that there was much support for the idea though.

I don't like Hanrahan coming in in a non-save situation.

Wilmington-Potomac (bottom of the 13th):  Solano hits a chopper to the SS, the throw to first is off, but the firstbaseman is still able to apply the tag.  Lyons lines one to leftfielder Ramon Ortiz for out #2.  Martinez, who has struck out in his last two at-bats, puts a great at-bat forward, fouling three balls off and finally hits one to right field for a single.  With the game winner aboard, Andrew Lefave approaches the plate.  Will he provide the game winning RBI?

Martinez steals second base as the ball hops past the second baseman, runner now in scoring position for Lefave.  Lefave fails to come through, and grounds out to first.  This sucker is going into the 14th!

This game is going to put a lot of pressure on tomorrow night's starters to go deep in the game.  I never thought that this game would go longer than the Nats game, but it looks like it will.  I will continue to provide updates in this thread until the completion of the Potomac game, even if the Nats game finishes first.

That's ****ing ridiculous.  Zimmerman has been trash at the plate this year and he has no discipline.  Dunn mashes and gets on base at a .400 clip.  I'd trade Zimmerman for Dunn straight-up without even blinking.
