badly needed victory. Zim's defensive play with the bases loaded and 2 outs was the play of the game. He also scored the Game-Winning run.

Mock, Wells, and Tavarez combined to throw 3.1 innings of scoreless ball to preserve the victory. wow.

It means he took second because the defense let him.

I understood that, but the choice of word's "fielder's indifference" and the fact they didn't want to keep him on first made no sense.

It means the runner is not credited with a steal.

The Phillies needed three runs, thus Rollins didn't matter to the outcome of the game.  If it wasn't for stats and pride, the Nats could just let Rollins run around the bases.

we were up 3 runs.

That is rarely enough for this team.

Was Harris dogging it out there?

Ok, I thought it was off of Harris and not the battery. Thanks for clearing that up.

I wonder if that's what Tavarez was telling Flores "Jesus, don't you #$%^in' t'row dat ball!

Btw I'm really tired of Manny taking out our SP when he's at 93 pitches with two outs.

it was the manager's decision not to worry about the runner. in that instance holding the runner makes no sense when you are up 3.

notes from tonight's w:

- Zimmerman extends his hitting streak to 18 games.
- Zimmerman is the best defensive player in baseball.
- Zimmerman is the best 3b in baseball.
- Dukes is a beast.
- Tavarez cemented himself as our closer.

there is a team worse than the Nats believe it or not.

Our own farm team, the AA Harrisburg Senators lost their 11th game in a row tonight to fall to 2-15 on the season.
