Hmmm, to certain extent sure.  I think Maddux and Strasburg have some similarities, mainly in that they both keep the ball 'hidden' until the perfect moment in their motion when they basically catapult the ball to the catcher's mitt.  The motion at that point is so fluid, that it becomes very difficult for the batter to even locate the ball.
That's it exactly. Just couldn't find the words - they definitely start slow and keep the ball back and then suddenly - bam.

Of course you're very right they are and shall be very different pitchers. But my interest was momentarily quite piqued.

4-1 scouts-fans ... if only he were playing on a Big Deal school. Like RICE!!!!

Strasburg's teammates are certainly going to get a lot more exposure this season.

Strasburg's teammates are certainly going to get a lot more exposure this season.

They have a few talented players.

SDSU's Shortstop, Ryan O'Sullivan was drafted by the S.F. Giants in the 10th round in last year's draft but elected to go to college instead.

SDSU scores again. 3-0 SDSU. Rough inning for Bethune-Cookman starter Hiram Burgos who is expected to be a Top 50 pick in the '09 draft.

hilarious. You could just hear the SDSU radio announcer talking in between innings when he thought he was off the Mic. He had been keeping SS's pitch count but was then informed that his count was off by 7 pitches and he was laughing his ass off.

He was also told that 70+ people were listening to the online stream right now. He just gave a shout out to D.C. and any Nationals fans listening.

I don't like the 2 H, 1 BB, or the HBP, but the rest is pretty good.
