Odalis is seriously having a better season than Joe "Big Hyped Deadline Trade Guy" Blanton?

I'd say Odalis has had a solid season. So much better than most expected out of him, yet he still gets no respect here. He's still an MLB-caliber pitcher.

I honestly believe there was no intent on Utley's part to hurt Flores, but I think this team has an opportunity to show some moxie tonight and I hope they take the chance.

I know everyone wants to see Dukes be the guy, but if he does it, the national media will hammer him and say that he's back to his punk-ass, Tampa days.  Let Zimmerman take out Utley today - Dukes would look like a punk, whereas Zimmerman would be sending a message.

I don't get it. The Phillies gave up 3, yes count 'em, THREE prospects for garbage ass Joe Blanton.

How could we get absolutely squat nothing for Perez, a clearly better pitcher? Same with Redding who has 10 wins.

Before his last start, you said Redding wasn't worth a GCL roster spot.  Now you think we could get more for him than the A's got for Blanton?

Boy are you dumb.

Do yourself a favor and research a bit bofre you gag on your foot:

Take a look at Blanton's, Redding's and Perez's numbers and tell me who you'd rather have (and I am a HUGE Redding fan).

Yeah I don't think it was dirty either but I agree that because one of ours was hurt in the process we need to retaliate.

You are a moron. Redding and Perez are mediocre but I'd rather have them over crappy Blanton in a heartbeat.

You're the moron.  All you have to do is look at Blanton's lifetime numbers vs. either Perez or Redding and you'll see he's been the better pitcher.  Plus, he's younger.

It only takes the rational capacity of a fifth-grader to realize it, but then again, I should take into account who I'm arguing with.

I have a feeling we will get to see Martis' debut tonight, unless its a close game, then we would see the regulars who had a day off last night (shell, rivera, hanrahan).

I like to think of the GD threads as this board's bar. Sometimes it's better when all of the regulars don't show up.

Edit: Oh, and a lot of us drink during the games.

Haha, well put.  I am sure many of the posters are drunk when they are posting during the games, especially this year.  I know I have been guilty of hitting the bottle during a lot of the threads.

Yeah, on the hip.  Probably not quite what many people wanted.

It's just funny w/ what everyone's been talking about today. Was it b/c he crowded, leaned into the pitch, or was it just a really bad pitch by OP?

I just turned that game on. Perez hit Utley in the hip? WTF is that. Only the NATS could screw up retaliating against someone.

He turned into it, but it wasn't a very good pitch.  It was about as light of HBP as you can get.  If it was retaliatory, it was half-ass.  I just think it was coincidence, though.

That's what I figured.

Come on, OP! Get out of this inning.
