Just in case anyone cares, I just looked, saw double header plus a delayed game for Dunn that Prolly gets ended early. Three Abs in game one, two Ks, two Abs in game two, one K. 30 games now. Dude gets a rain shortened game with just two Abs, and still... This just continues to blow my mind. I was sure, the double header plus rain shortened, it was over. Blows my mind.

Just wait until Coladar is drunk and stumbles on the field of play asking where is Dunn

Awesome, who gives a crap? I think everyone got that much weeks ago. Never mind EdStroud and our one White Sox fan also got where I'm coming from, and others.

I get people not giving a crap like I do, understand why. But if I'm the only one that finds it bizarre considering that he's had six games with one out, seven games now with two outs, and yet the streak continues, then I really am way out in left field. It'd be different if the dude had five outs every game, three to four ks a game, etc. But 45ks, 105ABs, 360OBP, and on pace for 50 hrs? There's no way a 30 game streak should be possible, when he's had as few outs as he's had. It's an amazing, worthless, but fascinating and statistically next to impossible event.

I don't post updates every day, five posts updating in 30 games, never made a seperate thread, and the longer it goes on, the more interesting it is. Considering all the senseless crap posted on this forum, and the Internet, I don't get the hate, but whatever. Stuff like this is what separates baseball from every other sport. I get not giving a crap about it, but I don't get the hate a post or two a week gets as bizarre as it is at this point.

AKA for the TL;DR crowd: Whatever.

Colodar, I still think it's boring, but I'm over it.  That said, you should probably create a thread for this instead of continually posting in this one so that those who aren't interested don't have to read it.  Former Nat threads have always been more "passing mention" type of threads anyway, not long-term player trackers.  I'm pretty sure there was a dedicated Dunn thread last year, why not go ahead and fire up one for this year?

I'm always reluctant to start a new thread, particularly for something like this, but I think you're right. Considering the animosity it generates, I might. And I say might, only because the reason I popped in was to say I think it's finally over. Three innings left, Dunn has been on base three times in three PAs. Two walks and and hit. If it doesn't end tonight, which it has to, I'll accede to your wisdom, and mayhap you can copy over the posts to clear up this thread. But I really believe it's dunn for, and perfect timing no less. Old record was 15 games, Dunn at 30. An even thirty, doubling the old, sounds like a nice ending to me.

Edit to add: seventh inning, Dunn walks again!!! Four PAs, on base four times. Gee, we couldn't use a LFer with a godly OBP, on pace for 50HRs, eight doubles so far, etc, could we? Nopers, we are awesome in LF. But I repeat, Dunn might not see another AB tonight even. It's DUNN for!

It's an incredible record. Like my own world record for cup-stacking! When someone sets a new world record for cup-stacking, I will sense it instinctively, like a disturbance of the force.

holy crap. it's the 8th inning and Dunn has 0 K's.

Seen, this is why it drives me up a wall. Dude made one freaking out tonight, in his last freaking AB. It was the eighth inning and Dunn hadn't been out yet in four PAs. So now we are up to seven games where he's only made ONE out, that was a K, and seven games where he only made two outs. 14 of 31, half his games now, two outs or less. He's that freaking awesome this year.

After I checked the box score just now, convinced when I last posted it was over, I wanted to kill the baseball God's when I saw it went extras. I knew it. It'd have driven me insane if he Ked in the tenth, but instead it was the third out in the ninth. I'd say it's a little more noteworthy than HoustonNats personal cup stacking record, but not much, I get it. But come on. I just don't get how it hasn't ended with all these one out games, two out games. Tonight, Dunn doesn't make an out until the ninth, third out, and it's a K. It just blows my mind.

So I'll make a thread tomorrow night, per Chief's recomendation. I'd do it with this, but I got two hours sleep and am too tired. And if someone does before me, just make it a general Dunn 2012 thread, since the guy is on pace for 50HRs, got an OBP of 381, OPS of 950ish, etc. he doesn't deserve a thread about such an obscure but purely negative thing and we apparently had one last year.
