Dunn homered and struck out again.

The world still spins.

I know it's too early to assume he won't implode again, but doing so anyway, I really have to wonder WTF happened to him last year.

Did he comment on him much last year?  I don't look at his twitter very often (the last couple of weeks have been an aberration for me), but I seem to recall that he didn't say much about Dunn after his departure.

Yeah. He'd say things like he knew it was good not to sign him.

Anyways... as for the slump... who knows. I've heard everything from he didn't work out, to having trouble to adjusting to the AL. Whatever the case, things seem to be going better for him this year.

I know lorb's just a big joke to us, but there are still occasions when I just stop and think "I can't believe how incredibly unprofessional that dude is"

Maybe, like Desmond, he was pregnant.

What happened to Willie Harris?  I thought he had a decent year last year.  I also thought he'd be a decent pickup for us as another outfield bat.  He's worse than Nady and DeRosa.

I think we signed him to a minor league deal and then he asked to be let out of it so we let him go.  Last year.

Like him to make a full year or two of MLB minimum.  That can pay off a lot of debt, even if you don't end up being a regular.

I checked again, and Dunn Ked twice tonight, in addition to an RBI somehow without a hit, SF or grounder. I post not because of that, but because I just noticed this: His last ten games per ESPN.com. 6 games with 3ABs, 1 game each with 2 and 1 Abs. 8 of ten games with three or fewer official Abs. His OBP is an awesome 372, on pace for 44 Hrs. I just wish this would end at this point, because the old record that stood 50 years was what, 15 games, and we are up to 26 now.

What makes it so mind blowing is the 8/10 three Abs or less thing. It's not a testament of crap play, just a unbelievable string of bad luck. It's even more insane with Dunn performing so well. It's one thing if a player is hitting below 100 and striking out every AB. To perform *so* well, have so few Abs, and yet the streak goes on, the odds of such a thing lasting 26 games all things considered is just mind blowing. It's an insane freak occurance and statistically next to impossible odds wise.

I agree it's interesting - it's also weird that the prior record was only 15 games.  Feels like Danny Espinosa has beaten that record already this year.  With the way strikeouts have become more acceptable, I would have thought several guys could have challenged 15 games - Dunn, Mark Reynolds, and others.

I'm happy that Dunn is having a good year.  He looked genuinely anguished last year and I think I remember him talking about quitting or retiring if he had another year like he had last year.

I agree that this is interesting as a statistical aberration.  Adam Dunn is currently 12th all time in career strikeout as a hitter.  You expect him to strikeout often (although last year, it seemed like he had 40% of his career strikeouts in one season).  The reason why this consecutive game record is of note is it started with the first game of the season and continues.  I wonder what the record is for consecutive games played with a strikeout?  And when you look at the names ahead of Dunn on the all-time list, you would think somebody had to go like 30-35 games in a row striking out at least once (players like Reggie Jackson, Jim Thome, Sammy Sosa, Jose Canseco etc.).

We're having fun with this on one of the White Sox message boards I frequent (southsiders.net), where some are betting he gets at least one K in each of the White Sox' 162 games this year. And, as long as he continues to produce, its really no different than popping out on the infield.

That is a good question, going the other way I know that a guy named Joe Sewell went over 100+ games without striking out
