Milledge, Dukes, Zimmerman, and Flores all have power.
I don't understand why everyone acts like we have no power.

Those are all at least 20 HR hitters on an average season.

because as of about a week ago, Willie Harris, he of the 7 career HRs before this season, was leading our team in HRs and we had not a single player in double digits after 100+ games.

Zimmerman and Flores have had less than 250 ABs
Dukes and Milledge have missed a ton of playing time.

You can't compare this to a full season. Once they have a full season, then you can judge.

I disagree.  The team looked really good at the end of last year too.  Remember how sharp they looked in September?

But I think we actually have a younger team that will get better this time.
Yep, we knocked the Mutts out of the playoffs and generally played really good ball after our 9-25 start last year.

But yeah the fact that we are younger is a big positive.

Wow, what a play by Pete.

Wow, Perez has recovered greatly since that hiccup in the first inning.

If Bowden doesn't make a serious effort to deal him after two gem starts in a row he is an idiot.

regarding jordan zimmermann

okay his night is done.

4 ip, 7 h, 2 er, 0 bb, 7 k.

either he's a) hurt, b) tired or c) earned himself a promotion.  He faced only 18 batters and didn't walk anyone so I don't think he's tired.  A) or C) ?

It's probably because his pitch count was near 100. Giving up 7 hits and striking out 7 can run up your pitch count in a hurry.

Langerhans looks like a distant relative of Jim Furyk.

There is no need to keep freaking around tempting fate with Perez. We've gotten what we could out of him. We have to trade him now while there is some value. The same for Redding. If he can have one more decent start we have to ship him out also.

QFT. Perez is at peak value. Deal him. He's shut down two potent offenses in a row.
