also, GMU, livan's a pretty good hitter.  but i expect him to come out or at least start the 6th.  we don't have an offday in a while, so we need to go deep in games as much as we can.

He shouldn't be coming out. Not only is 113 pitches a lot with no off days, it's clear that he struggled today. Why bring him out tired against the Braves lineup, not to mention you can get a pinch hitter who is a lot better than Hernandez. Why do you need to save your pinch hitters. Isn't the point of them is to use in critical situations? A 1 run game is critical especially when you factor that Kawakami sucks and you want to get as many runs as you can against before he leaves.

Who, in our bullpen do you trust more than Livan with a 1 run lead in the 6th?

The walk was questionable.  He didn't get two close strike calls.

Yeah, at least two of these could've gone either way.

Having him throw 123 pitches when the team has to play with no off day is ridiculous. Not to mention that Livan has struggled in this outing. I would take any of our bullpen arms over a tired struggling Livan. Riggleman should have used a pinch hitter. I'm pretty sure a 1 run game is an important situation for your pinch hitters. If you know that you are going to take him out after 2 batters so that the lefty relief pitcher can face the Left handed batter, there is no point in leaving him in the game after the amount of pitches he has thrown.
