I'll be there if so.  Probably the day I give my notice at my current job.

Looks like the rumors of decommissioning the SEMO desk are largely over-exaggerated.   :?

I just received word that the Gilboa Dam has water overtop of it . . .  again.  Guess I'll be working at the desk again on Friday.

Never seen so much rain as today.

I think Lee has dumped about twice as much rain on Richmond as Irene did.

Rock Creek has just burst its banks...people in Old Town Alexandria should probably be breaking out the sandbags ASAP.

huge band of heavy rain moving into the D.C. area now, it looks like it will stick around for a while now and cause a lot of flooding problems.  Once it moves out the winds are going to kick-up.  CWG reports flooding already in many parts of the area.

5-6" of rain tonight in the D.C. area.  I'm guessing Wang gets a breather.

Irene brought suburban Maryland hellacious wind, but nothing like this amount of rain.

Irene didn't give us all that much rain either. Ton of nasty wind though.

Sun is out for now... Not sure how long it's supposed to last.

the rains today have been unbelievable, totals since Monday from WTOP:

Columbia, Md: 9.89 inches
Bowie, Md.: 8.08 inches
Upper Marlboro, Md.: 7.39 inches
Waldorf, Md.: 7.02 inches
Chevy Chase, Md.: 6.23 inches
Arlington, Va.: 5.91 inches
Woodbridge, Va.: 5.82 inches
Washington, D.C. at Children's Hospital: 5.6 inches

They just opened 1 lane back up each way on the Beltway near Cameron Run.  Fairfax schools are closed tomorrow.  Another round of heavy rain is setting up near Fredricksburg, another 1-2" likely as it heads north.

It's like a steambath out there now with the sun beating down evaporating all that water. Not a nice night to sit out at the ballpark (good thing for me I don't have tickets).
