Check out "Hulk" who plays in Portugal for Porto:

He's only 5'11" ...  Rizzo wouldn't draft him.   :)

Ha ha, true.  He's actually got some serious wheels despite all of that bulk, but yeah, he's a squat fireplug.  Of course so was Maradona.

He's a big dude.   Only other guy I've seen that tall is the white guy on Stoke (I think) but he's gangly.    Do you know who is the biggest guy in the Premier?

Is Peter Crouch still playing?  Isn't he 6' 7"?  (edit - yes, he's on Stoke per ESPN)

Peter Crouch is one odd-lookin' dude.  IIRC he actually kept England in the 2006 World Cup during the first knockout game against Ecuador.

The United still sucks right? I'll likely go to a few games this year.

You *might* need to drive up to Baltimore in order to do so, though I suspect they will have at one more year at The Bob.  MLS is unlikely to let things drag on longer than that (seeing as DC is the last team without an SSS or one under construction).

At the moment, it certainly looks as if (yesterday's result notwithstanding) Norwich City are going to stay up, so that's a reasonably safe bet...you probably don't want to get too attached to a team in the drop zone, because after relegation they won't be on TV here.  Right now, Wigan, Bolton, and Blackburn are looking like they will be chopped, though there's a lot of time left for that to change.  Even Fulham isn't entirely out of danger.

I'm not buying it until it happens

from a recent post article

Quote
For instance, Baltimore collected $815 million in property taxes during the most recent fiscal year, according to Bill Voorhees, Baltimore’s director of revenue and tax analysis. Next year, the figure is predicted to shrink to $803.5 million. The following year, $773 million. The year after that, $735.7 million. The year after that, $729.4 million.

They aren't building a soccer stadium in lean times, they can posture all they want, but it's not happening

That's true of course, but the state of Maryland loves nothing better than a publicly-financed stadium.  Hell, they paid for most of OPACY, FedEx, and the Ravens stadium all within a few years of each other IIRC.

...and before they mortgaged the farm to build the intersuburban asphalt supercollider.  But I still think that the odds are at least 50/50 that DCU will move, and I think that if they do, Charm City is a likely destination.

Lol, I should. I was thinking of maybe supporting the only welsh team. Swansea City A.F.C.

The 18.8-mile Intercounty Connector, which opened in full Tuesday, could be the last publicly funded highway built in Maryland for a generation, as the state’s tolling agency, which financed its $2.56 billion construction, reaches its debt limit, local transportation experts said.

Yep.  Though I believe that transportation is 100% dedicated funding, so the state legislature may actually be free to waste money elsewhere with reckless abandon.
