Yeah that POS from Baseball Tonight Karl Ravich always takes a shot at the Nats when he introduces their highlights. Has anyone else noticed this?

Looks like Levale Speigner isn't getting any better in AAA. After this start he has an 8.10 ERA in 23.1 Triple-A innings.
3.1 IP 9 H 8 R 8 ER 3 BB 3 SO 0 HR

To be able to keep Speigie, we sent the Twins Darnell McDonald, who was playing well but with no real hitting power.  I can't believe Bacsik went 7 innings like this.  Manny being an ex-Mets coach seems to really be paying off in these games against the Mets.

Ayala to wrap it up...

If we can get 7 from Redding tomorrow in the first game we'll have a fresh BP for the rest of the series.

that's a BIG IF.. Our offense should be able to tee of against El Duque.  I'm pretty sure we rocked him good earlier in the season, on a Saturday as well.  Great job Ayala and GREAT WIN NATIONALS!

Nats win! They get by with using only 2 pitchers with a burned out bullpen and a double header tomorrow. Somehow, we have a fresh bullpen for tomorrow.

I gotta walk my dogs but I'm looking forward to seeing who gets ronnynats game ball for this game. There should be some honorable mentions in this one.

I agree, Bacsik.  Honorable mentions to Church, Zimmerman, Kearns, Young.  Church for crushing the ball twice and ending his homer slump.  Zimmerman for his incredible defensive plays, and getting on base all night.  Kearns for establishing that ending his homer drought a few games ago was no fluke.  Young for keeping his bat working, and he was actually safe at 2nd, so I don't subtract for an umpire's error.

Whoops, forgot Ayala.  don't remember the last time he pitched two innings, though it seemed he only threw about 18 pitches or so.

Caught all 9 on TV! Great game, fundamentally sound all the way around. I love beating the pompous Mets, they think they are so mighty. It's actually fun watching the game on the opponents TV station. The Mutt announcer got mega owned, he was talking about how "pitiful, dismal, disappointing" Church has been playing and seconds later he jacks a hr. He also abused AK and he homered soon after. It was very fulfilling to see. That 4 double 2nd was a thing of beauty.

1 down 3 to go

It's cool to pick out two players for game balls. Bacsik tip toed through a mine field here and there but the end result was a solid outing. Church hit the ball hard in his first 2 plate appearances so I agree there also. But like tomterp mentioned, Zimmerman was a beast on both sides of innings. Young was up to his old tricks at the plate and flashed a little defense to boot. Kearns' bomb merits mention. Schneider had 2 RBI's. And Ayala shut the door in their face.
