Atlanta - 44-35
Arizona - 43-36 1 GB
St. Louis 41-38 3 GB
Washingt 40-38 3.5 GB

Baseball Prospectus' latest playoff odds report has us up to a 0.9% chance, tied with the Florida Marlins. In fact, we're projected to win 77.1 games, and the Marlins are projected to win 77.2

This means that any further Florida losses and Washington wins will put our playoff odds higher than Florida's and higher than 1%!!

Also, there are 6 MLB teams with lower odds than ours!

It would take a 2007 Rockies type run with Wang being as good as he was for the Yankees, and Strasburg injecting himself with Pujols blood to come back quicker. Not to mention the magic elixar the offense would have to drink to suddenly start producing.

Of course you can't be serious about wild card contention this early, especially when there are 6 teams ahead of you and you are more than 3 - 5 games back. 6th in the wild card does not even put you in the top half of the league, when you consider there are 3 division leaders ahead of you, too. But as long as we are relevant, above .500, it is cool to look at!
