By the way, I have two extra tickets to today's game in section 110.  If anyone wants them PM me and they're yours.

I'll think about how much I hate you while hacking on C++ code, writing a crappy document, and listening to Johnny Holliday's gibberish.

Johnny Holiday is the equivalent of listening to live closed caption broadcasting.

He's a good five seconds behind the action and he makes just as many mistakes as closed captioning spells words wrong.

When I go to the subforum on Game day threads, my screen shows only the last 10 games plus today's.  It does not look right.  There's usually a lot of blank space on the left column, but now the column is filled with :w: , except for today's game and the one on from Sunday.  Can you explain?  do i need to go to the Red Loft for the technical thread?

Thanks for the early postings of the game threads, lately. Today's game is gonna have some drama I think - It is a REDEMPTION GAME for the Mariners. Could be very tight game or a massacre of hitting against Marquis.  :ballbat:  Pray for a tight game. Right now, too iffy to call.  :nervous:  REDEMPTION games always are.

Whilst waiting for the Yellow line going home last night some youngster in Mariners kit came up to me, after asking what station he was at (it was Archives - he had missed his stop at L'Enfant while chatting with someone), told me 'We're going to win tomorrow...we got a pitcher'.

I just said we'll see about that - that's why they play the games - and meanwhile I'm just going to enjoy my lads being at .500 this late in the season for the first time since 2005.

--

A by-product of recent success: not only are we drawing better generally (two consecutive nights of 21k+ against a relatively uncompelling opponent would have been unthinkable in August or September of last season)...but people are staying longer, because the matches have been more competitive than in recent years. Far less of a parade to the exits starting about the sixth inning, when last season the home nine would be staring up at a four- or five-run deficit with little hope in sight...instead we're having matches like last night's, carrying a one-run lead into the late going with every Mariners batter representing the potential tying run...unless they have to get up at 04.00 the following morning for something, people will stay for that. Much more compelling viewing than in past seasons.

Very strange indeed, I don't know what to make of it.  Looks very anomalous.

Riggleman mentioned the idea on air last night, but said he'd start doing it after the end of the homestand.  Must've liked it so much that he got impatient.

Their numbers on the season are nearly identical aside from Bernadina's BA being ~40 points higher.

Bernie's trended strongly upwards lately, while Werth.....     :?
