Give him the surgery now. He is so young by the time he is MLB ready he won't have the pitching limits on him, he'll have the innings limits down in the minors.
Zachary Levine of the Houston Chronicle is reporting that Lucas Giolito anagrams to "is it a go, ol' UCL?"
The way we talk about elbow surgery like it's nothing makes me wonder what the fail rate is- i couldnt find anything during my brief search
Hard hitting journalism at its best.
Last stat I heard was the chances of a player coming back to full strength after TJS is about 85 to 90 percent. Many pitchers actually comeback stronger than before the surgery.
Going to get an opinion from Yocum tomorrow!
You have got to figure that he was very aware of the potential surgery when he signed with the Nats. If he went to UCLA the arm would hve been bothering him at the start of next season and at some point he would have the surgery and miss close to two seasons. He would have lost a lot of value at that point.Who better to re-hab with than the Nats.
TJS is working out for the previous two pitchers in the Nationals organization that got it. I fail to see an issue.
Amanda Comak @acomakLucas Giolito, the #nats top pick in the 2012 draft, saw Dr. Yocum Weds. and will have Tommy John surgery on Aug. 31 per team source.
