thank god the Nats are winning ... the Skins have been bad enough tonight ...

it was definitely Chen Min-Wang...

Why won't the Nats call up Alberto Gonzalez? He is 2/3 with a HR and 2 RBIs tonight and has been hitting well for the Clippers for a week or so.

Seems like an easy move to me. Send down Orr.

You love to hate Brennan, huh? Did someone overpraise him or something?

He's been swinging a hot bat. No reason not to have him up here now. I guess they just don't want to hurt Orr's feelings.

No point on moving Orr back down to Columbus only to recall him in 3 days.

Why recall him at all? He's old and provides nothing that Anderson Hernandez, Bonifacio, Alberto Gonzalez, etc. don't. They are all much younger too.

I'm not the GM.  I wouldn't have him on the team if I was, but regardless, he will be.  So logistically it makes no sense to send a guy to Ohio and then bring him back to Washington in 3 days.  They like what he has done with the bat, and apparently he is a good fielder, although I haven't seen much to this effect.

We have a bunch of solid fielding middle infielders now.

Kemp is pathetic. He has less patience at the plate than Guz and EB.

But he'll be better than both. He strikes out a lot, but he also gets a lot of hits.

"Pathetic." You're funny.

I don't see him being on the team next year regardless. I think guys like Alberto Gonzalez and possibly Anderson Hernandez have a role on this team as a back-up infielder. I'm particularly intrigued by Gonzalez. He swung a mean bat when he was up here along with really nice defense. The hot hitting has apparently carried over to his play in Columbus too.

Lannan's walked like four guys tonight. Why would you walk him in front of Manny?!

I like Gonzalez too, but I don't know if they are going to cut ties with Orr.  A lot depends on what happens this offseason, but I don't see him anywhere but on the 25-man roster for September, like it or not.

Great fastball, Lannan! Perfect spot to get Manny to pop up.

I just came back from a walk with my wife, when I left we were up 5-2 in the first. I come back, its 5-2. I have never seen a team so incapable of scoring runs after the first.

I really hope Orr doesn't stay on the 25 man after the year. What does that accomplish?

Hernandez should be an emergency call-up for us, at best, next season. Gonzalez could earn a bench spot here, but we definitely haven't seen enough of him yet to know that he deserves it.
